Say goodbye to teeth trouble

We understand that preserving natural teeth is important to our patients. That’s why our first line of defense when treating damaged teeth is typically a filling, crown, or root canal. However, there are times when these treatments are not sufficient to save a tooth. Extraction may be the best option when a tooth is severely decayed, fractured beyond repair, or infected to the point of endangering other teeth and overall health.

Need an extraction dentist in MD? Our team is here to help. Trust us at Tidewater Dental for comprehensive and personalized dental care. Request an appointment today and learn more.

When are tooth extractions needed?

  • Impacted wisdom teeth
  • Gum disease
  • An abscess (infection in your gums, teeth, or bone)
  • Pain
  • Crowded teeth (not enough space for all your teeth)
  • Cosmetic procedures

Experience stress-free tooth extraction

We strive to provide a stress-free and comfortable environment. We offer a range of sedation options to ensure a pain-free and anxiety-free extraction process.

Nitrous oxide

Also known as laughing gas,  nitrous oxide is a safe and effective sedation option that can help you relax during a tooth extraction. This form of sedation is inhaled through a mask, and the effects wear off quickly once the procedure is complete. Nitrous oxide is ideal for patients who experience mild to moderate anxiety during dental procedures and want to feel more comfortable during their tooth extraction.

IV sedation (twilight sedation)

Also known as twilight sedation, is a deeper form of sedation administered through an IV line. This sedation option can help patients with severe anxiety, fear of dental procedures, or require a more complex tooth extraction procedure. IV sedation is a safe and effective option that allows you to remain conscious during the procedure, but you will have little to no memory of the experience.

Oral sedation

Taking a sedative medication in pill form before the tooth extraction procedure. This sedation option can help patients who experience moderate to severe anxiety during dental procedures. Oral sedation can make you feel drowsy and relaxed, but you will still be conscious during the extraction. The effects of oral sedation can last several hours, so you will need to arrange for transportation to and from our office.
